Substance Use Disorder Services
A variety of Substance Use Disorder Services are available to help meet the needs of individuals and families seeking services through Changes Place. It is our ultimate goal to help individuals and families achieve a greater quality of life through a positive counseling experience.
AODA Assessment
This assessment consists of a face-to-face interview to determine the full nature and extent of an individual’s relationship to alcohol and/or other drugs. Objective testing is typically implemented to assist in the assessment process. Information gathered is used for the purpose of recommendation and referral. Recommendation for intervention and/or treatment services may be made based upon individual’s needs.
Drug and Alcohol Remedial Education
Education based on alcohol/drugs facts and the effect on the user, families, and society. Information regarding signs and symptoms of substance use disorders. Information on intervention treatments and community resources available to help individuals with substance related problems.
Early Intervention
Early intervention services are provided at a rate of less than 9 hours per week and can be done in group, family, or individual sessions. Early intervention explores the individual’s alcohol and/or drug use and helps to establish healthy coping skills necessary to avoid substance-related problems. This is a pre-treatment level of service that focuses on education, exploration, and future planning.
Outpatient Treatment
Outpatient treatment services are provided at a rate of less than 9 hours per week focusing on education, self-exploration, problem-solving, and helping individuals address issues in their life associated with substance use disorders. Services will be rendered based on individual treatment motivation level and need. Individualized continued care recommendations will be made upon completion of outpatient services.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Intensive outpatient treatment services are provided at a rate of greater than 9 hours per week focusing on education, self-exploration, problem solving, and helping individuals address issues in their life associated with substance use disorders. Services will be rendered based on individual treatment motivation level and need. Individualized continued care recommendations will be made upon completion of intensive outpatient services.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is provided through professional staff members to discuss and explore individual substance-related issues for the purpose of better meeting the needs of our client population. Individual services can be tailored to the unique needs of the individual and allows for a safe environment in which a person is able to discuss potentially sensitive topics.
Continuing Care
Continuing care is available to all clients based on individual necessity. Generally, continuing care is either group or individual counseling, or a combination thereof that is offered for continued education, treatment, or support following the termination of his or her primary treatment program. Continuing care is recommended on an individual basis and is solely determined by individual need and circumstance. Continuing care places an emphasis on maintaining positive lifestyle changes, relapse prevention, and utilizing community resources for continued support.
Referral
Changes Place professional staff understands the unique needs of our client population. It is our goal to provide the greatest level of service available. To that end, Changes Place utilizes all community resources available to help individuals and families achieve a greater quality of life. If for any reason it is found that the programs offered at Changes Place are not a good fit, we will work with clients and families to find an agency that is best suited to meet their individual needs.
